Terms of Service

Note: This is a plain-language starting draft for Tony to review. It's meant to be reasonable and readable, not formal legal advice — please have it checked before it's treated as final.

These terms cover your use of the 12v.Biz website and the 12v.Biz Toolbox ("the service"). By using the site or signing up for a trial, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

The 12v.Biz Toolbox is software for car audio and mobile electronics shops — scheduling, vehicle check-in, work orders, two-way texting, and related tools. We're always improving it, so specific features may change over time.

Free trial

We offer a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. It's meant for you to evaluate the Toolbox in your own shop. Need a little more time? Just ask.

Pricing and billing

  • The Toolbox is $30 per technician, per month. Your sales and support staff can use it for free.
  • The optional two-way texting add-on is $5 per month plus $1 per technician, per location.
  • You can pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. Annual plans pre-pay 11 months and get the 12th free.
  • All prices are in US dollars (USD) unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Prices may change in the future; we'll give you notice before any change affects your plan.

Cancellation

There's no long-term contract — you can cancel any time by messaging us or emailing tony@12v.biz, and we'll process it right away. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, but reach out if something isn't right and we'll do our best to make it fair.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the service lawfully and not to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • send spam or unlawful messages through the texting features;
  • attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service; or
  • use the service in a way that harms other users or us.

You're responsible for your account, your users, and the data you put into the Toolbox.

Your data

You keep ownership of the information you and your customers put into the Toolbox. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Third-party services

The Toolbox connects to services like QuickBooks Online and text-messaging carriers. Your use of those is also subject to their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.

Our intellectual property

The 12v.Biz name, the Toolbox software, and the content on this site belong to us. Using the service doesn't give you ownership of any of it.

Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for every purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, 12v.Biz is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

12v.Biz is operated as a sole proprietorship based in British Columbia, Canada. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute relating to these terms or the service will be handled by the courts located in British Columbia, Canada.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above. If you keep using the service after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.
